College website design and development

Our latest website build is for an existing customer, Unity College in Burnley.

We’ve worked with the college for several months, helping keep their WordPress website updated and maintained with our website maintenance packages and were delighted when they asked us to quote to refreshing their website.

After initial discussions, we opted to start a completely fresh design unique to the College. Our designer got to work on a couple of designs, providing the College with options to how the site would look. We always offer unlimited revisions to be sure we get it just right.

Once approved the design was coded into a WordPress theme, utilising the Bootstrap framework to ensure it works perfectly on mobile devices as well as desktop’s and that the code only includes what is needed for the functionality of the site.

The existing Unity College website had a lot of content, approximately 90 pages as well as numerous news posts. All content was copied to a fresh installation of WordPress and updated with the new design, the site was built on our development server ensuring the existing website wasn’t affected during the build and more importantly giving the College the opportunity to refresh content as the new site came together.

After a round of testing and content checking the new site went live, it took approximately six weeks to complete due to the large number of pages that needed refreshing to the new design.
