Opencart 2 to 3 upgrade

The Healing Corner sells gemstones and natural healing crystals and had recently had a website built on the Opencart 2 platform but were in need of some help with ongoing maintenance.

Performing an initial evaluation of the website it soon became clear it had been developed on an old version of the Opencart system, and updates were not possible. Along with issues of the payment gateways and out of date theme files it was essential to perform a full system upgrade.

An upgrade from Opencart 2 to Opencart 3 is not a simple task but after taking a backup of the old website we were able to perform all the necessary upgrades on a development version of Opencart 3, transferring existing products, sales and customer information. Then installing and setting up a new theme we were able to complete the set-up and test everything.

After final approval and testing, the existing live website was temporarily shut, allowing us to take a final transfer of orders and customer information without any new orders coming through. This final backup was then uploaded to the development site, everything had a final test and the new site was put live.
